Painful Secrets: Chapter Three

Chapter Three:

Kamijou sighed, walking into his and Nowaki's apartment. He dropped his bag next the coffee table and walked into the kitchen. He blinked, surprised, when he saw Nowaki.

"You're home?" Nowaki looked up, his face brightening when he saw Kamijou.

"Hiro-san!" He stood up, walking over and hugging his lover. "Welcome home!"

"Let go of me, brat!" Kamijou struggled, his face flushing a bit. Nowaki smiled, stepping away from him.

"How was work?"

"Fine, but I need to talk to you." Nowaki tilted his head.

"About what?" Kamijou sat down at the dining table, Nowaki sitting in the chair next to him.

"Professor Miyagi knows someone who's having trouble, and he's really worried about this person. He doesn't know what to do, so I told him to try talking to this person, and I'd ask you what you think. So... what do you think?"

"Hm..." Nowaki frowned. "What's wrong with this person?"

"Um... well, I've noticed that he's become really jumpy and frightened, and Miyagi said that he had a nightmare last night. So, do you know what could be wrong?" Nowaki's frown deepened.

"Well, it would seem that something happened to him that hurt him."

"Maybe... I'll see what Miyagi says after he talks to him. Though he may still need your help."

"Okay. I'm sure everything will turn out fine." Nowaki smiled, leaning over and kissing Kamijou. The older man blushed, pushing Nowaki away.

"What are you doing, you moron?" Nowaki didn't answer, just kissed him again. Kamijou weakly pushed against him, but gave up and ended up kissing back, wrapping his arms around Nowaki's neck, both of them tumbling to the floor...

'How the hell am I supposed to do this? What am I supposed to do?' Miyagi was resting his head in his hands, severely annoyed. Shinobu sat across from him, looking nervously down at his hands, which were resting in his lap. 'Kamijou, you should know me well enough by now to know that I can't do this. Damn it.' Miyagi mentally cursed Kamijou, promising himself to give the assistant professor hell at work.

"So, um... what's up?" Miyagi looked at Shinobu, trying to start conversation and find something out about what was wrong.

"Nothing..." Nothing. Not quite the answer he was looking for. He sighed quietly. 'Kamijou, your ass is screwed if you don't help me.' He rested his head on his hand, studying the younger male in front of him. Shinobu's shoulder's were tense, and he looked uncharacteristically nervous. Miyagi frowned, the worry inside him growing. Not realizing what he was doing, he stood up and walked around the coffee table, crouching down in front of Shinobu. He reached his hand up, cupping Shinobu's cheek gently.

"Hey, did something happen to you? You know you can tell me, right?" Shinobu trembled slightly, biting his bottom lip while his eyes started to become glossy with tears.

"B-but, I c-can't tell you. Th-they told me I couldn't tell you." Miyagi's frown deepened, confusion sweeping over him.

"They? Who's they? Is someone hurting you?" Shinobu's eyes widened, his hands shooting up to cover his mouth.

"Um, i-ignore what I just said. It's n-nothing." Tears had started falling down Shinobu's cheeks, flowing quickly. He stood up quickly, surprising Miyagi. "I-I'm sorry, I-I have to go." Shinobu made a move to run to the door. Miyagi stood up, grabbing Shinobu's wrist before he could go anywhere. He pulled the smaller boy close, wrapping his arms tightly around him.

"I'm worried about you. Please tell me what's wrong." He murmured softly, looking down at Shinobu's face. Shinobu's eyes widened in surprise. His tears flowed faster, cascading down his cheeks. He buried his face into Miyagi's shirt, gripping it tightly as sobs racked his body.

"I'm s-sorry, I c-can't tell you."
